The Shawangunk Catskill area Grotto used to serve cavers in the Mid-Hudson Valley area of New York, but is now mostly an armchair grotto that exists on paper. Other nearby grottoes go caving in the same places, and include
   MET Grotto
   Northern New Jersey Grotto
   Helderberg Hudson Grotto

The bat in the picture above is a Little Brown Bat, myotis lucifugus. The picture was taken in the New Discovery section of Surprise Cave in Sullivan County, New York.  The bat in the background image is a Pallas' Long-tongued Bat, Glossophaga soricina. The photo was taken in Roatan, one of the Bay Islands of Honduras. Both photos are copyright Stеvе McLuckiе
